Seeking Sun and Solitude

Sweating gently
Under the morning matchbook sun
Engulfed by it’s quietly oppressive radiance
I am content with my current standing in nature
Drifting softly in and out of the consciousness of another
With the spine of the book forced wide,
the scorched words find no refuge on the page
There is no loneliness in this solitude I have sought out
No real anticipation of the coming moments or months
Just the breeze trying to whisper its sweetness
Back at the bird songs
While the distant rattle of cars
cracks the calm
with human creation
